Khaleegy Choreography Series -
Review and Formations Only - 6 Weeks
Khaleegy is a mixture of modern style and traditional folkloric dance from the Persian Gulf countries of Ira, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The name of the dance literally means 'gulf" in Arabic and its is performed by women at weekends and other social events.
REQUIREMENTS
These choreographies are open level but student must have bellydance experience and must be an active student while working on technique. Active student requirements below:
Must be enrolled in a level II / III weekly bellydance class or
Must be enrolled in the fundamentals of bellydance class or
Must take bi weekly private classes with Maria
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY
Students will have an opportunity to perform this choreography at our annual Raqs Alegria show in November 2024 and also at our Treasures of the Caravan show in 2025. Performing is always optional and not a requirement.
COST
This choreography is a returning oldie but goodie. We will learning a choreography to Ya Omre Ana. Since this is a returning choreography, there will be two options.
1. First Option - If you have learned this choreography in the past, you can join us for the second half of the session. The second half is 6 Classes. Cost is $85. There will be review time, working on formations, run throughs. You must know the choreography before attending class. If you don't know it and come to class unprepared, you must sign up for a private lesson with Maria.
2. Second Option - If you have never learned this choreography, you must enroll for the full series. Cost is $135
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All registrations are non refundable / non transferable. Attendance is important. Please communicate all absences to Maria. Also please review your attendance requirements in your performance agreement.
